Christmas is the festival which inspires the spirit of sharing and caring

The 23rd of December, 2019, was a special day for the family of SJITI, DBCL, Kurla.  The trainees, staff, and the management gathered at the Fr Mondini hall at 8:30 am in the morning to celebrate this occasion of Christmas. Prior to that The institute premise was beautifully decorated, the carols were played in break time, the trainees prepared stars & decoration of candles at the entrance of institute.

The celebration started with an arrival of the special guests for the day, the supporting staff of DBCL, Kurla accompanied by Rev Fr. Colbert da Silva Rector/Director DBCL,Kurla and Fr Joe Braganza, executive director of DBCL, Kurla and Mr Amarr Prabh, Principal SJITI.  The compare, David Arangle, Mechanical Electronics, 1st year welcomed all dignitaries and all the members of SJITI family and introduced the reason for this celebration.  He later invited the trainees Amit Yadav, Mechanical Draughtsman, 2nd year, Kaustubh Ghag and Gilroy Alemeida,  Mechanical Motor Vehicle, 1st year to lead everyone into a meaningful prayer service, which included the following values: Humanity, Culture, Understanding, Harmony and Peace and showed its resemblance to the Christmas season.  The message was loud and clear that we need the same valued in us to make this world into a better place to live in.   Later on the trainees for the carols singing were invited to take on the stage, wherein they sang to the beats of Joy to the World, Mary’s Boy Child and Hark the Herald songs.  Later, Fr Colbert was called to deliver the message for Christmas, wherein he spoke about making this Christmas more meaningful to one and all.  He also invited trainees to keep themselves away from unhealthy practices.  He also thanked the supporting staff for their tireless services put in effortlessly.  The stage was then set on fire with a wonderful dance performance by Rajul and his team.  The Choir once again took stage, by singing a few more carols like Angels we have heard, Rudolf the red nosed and We three Kings songs.  Later the arrival of Santa Clause was announced and Santa Clause came in with all his glory and brought gifts to distribute to all the 20 supporting staff. This brought the cheer and smiles on their faces.  Santa Clause was then invited to deliver his message for Christmas, wherein the interpreter, Vijay Nadar, SR, SJITI, translated his messages which urged the trainees to reach out to the needy, especially the weaker and the vulnerable section in the society.  He also advised them To make proper choices and smile during any situation and to chase your dreams persistently.  Post the message of Santa Clause, Mr Amarr Prabhu proposed the vote of thanks, wherein he thanked all the staff of SJITI and wished them a Merry Christmas and Happy New year.  The programme then ended with a jam session and the distribution of the snacks.
